Never, Ever, Give Up!

GetRecD Events was founded in 2003 by siblings, Laura and Ryan Daly, to bring friends and family together and raise funds for kids with cancer. In an ironic twist of fate, Ryan was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006. After a courageous two-year battle, Ryan passed away in 2008 at the age of 29. After witnessing the costs involved with young adults battling cancer, Laura forged the charity onward and changed the direction of GetRecD. Laura and GetRecD would now DIRECTLY support cancer patients and their caregivers, with a focus on those between the ages of 25 to 50.

GetRecD is run entirely by volunteers. There are no overhead costs, no paid employees and no administration fees.

Some of our events include a The Daly Cup Hockey Tournament, Annual Golf Event, Poker Nights and other special events.

To date, with the help of our generous sponsors, donors and event participants, GetRecD has supported more than 200 patients in their battle with cancer and donated over $450,000 directly to cancer patients.

Truly A Not for Profit

GetRecD does not have any overhead costs such as, an office building, we have no paid employees, everyone volunteers, and all our proceeds go DIRECTLY to cancer patients and their caregivers. We prove this by having our patients attend our events and all attendees witness the funds go directly into the hands of our patients. ACTUALLY, we tend to have our attendee’s hand over the items so they can be empowered by the feeling of giving directly to a cause.

Sadly, the cancer world is not declining and sadly, more and more young adults, with families, are being diagnosed. Please attend an event, donate to the cause or donate items to assist our patients.
